Installations ... Audio Click on pictures in enlarge

Pictured right is the rear hatch before the amp rack and subwoofers were installed.

Pictured left is the stock 6.5 subwoofer from the Monsoon system. I am replacing that with a 5.25 JL Audio coaxial for the time being.

Pictured right you can see the spacer I made out of MDF in order to hold the smaller speaker.

Pictured right is the 5.25 JL Audio coaxial installed. I also used the stock speaker wire that was in place. This is temporary till I plan out the next system.

Pictured right is the factory speaker grill replaced. Approximate time to finish was  60 mins.

amp rack

Here is a picture as the amp rack was being built. It will house the 2 Rockford Fosgate amps. The amp for the front, pillar and rear speakers is an A2/250.
Pictured right the amps are being test fitted in the the rack.

Pictured left is rear subwoofer box. Each subwoofer is a JL Audio 12-W0 which is powered by the second amp .. Rockford Fosgate A2/500. The box is sealed and carpeted to match the interior.
Pictured right is the amp rack completed and installed on the rear deck. The subwoofer box fits nicely in the rear cargo area. Now where do I put my T-Tops?

A picture from the right of the car showing the installation of the amp rack and subwoofer box.
A picture from the left of the car showing the installation of the amp rack and subwoofer box.

Pictured left is at one of our local shows. It also shows the addition of the Lightning Audio 1 farad capacitor. This keeps the amps well supplied with power, brings the system to life and keeps it there. No more dimmed headlights.

A picture of the front of the car at a local show. Notice the Optima deep cell battery which was installed in order to supply enough power for the audio system.

Pictured left is Alpine CDA-D853 Head unit. This unit has a 1.5 din installation and required no adapter plate for a clean installation in the stock location. It also has an IR interface which allows me to use my steering wheel controls.

That is my Audio System to date. I am in the process of planning another one. Which will include better power and ground wiring, speaker wiring, a new amp rack and some other surprises. Check back often to see what I come up with and if you have any comments or suggestions send me an email at stealth961@yahoo.com
